Scraps to Treasures Bookmark Swap - Day 1

Welcome tothe Scraps To Treasures teams September Bookmark Swap hop. If you arrived here from Tahi's blog you are in the right place. If you just happened to “open the book” to my chapter  please start at Chapter 1 which is Jessi's blog.

This month our group of frugally fantastic crafters have made bookmarks for each other. We are excited to share this fun idea will all of our readers. If you want to try this and do not have a large group of friends to do a swap like this, you can do it with just 2 or 3 people.

Our wonderful sponsor for this hop is My Creative Time!

One lucky person will win this "Honey Do List" Stamp set:

Be sure to comment on EACH blog for BOTH days to be entered into the drawing!

Also be sure to follow any instructions on each blog for any fun goodies they may be givingaway!

Here are the bookmarks I made to share with my friends:

I used scraps of cardstock cut at 2 x 7 inches, then I cut patterned paper 1 3/4 x 6 3/4 inches and adhered to the cardstock base.  I used my scallop punch and added the "flower" at the top.  I printed "You Stopped Reading Here" on my computer and used a circle punch to cut them out.

Thanks so much for skimming through our “book”.  Be sure to check back tomorrow for another "book" of great bookmarks that will be shared with you.

Double Zig Zag Card

Just sharing a unique card with you.  This double zig zag card is easier to make than it looks.

I started with 2 pieces of card stock cut at 6 inches by 10 inches.  I scored each one at 2, 4 and 6 inches.  (be sure to score from the left on one and from the right on the other)  I then cut the diagnonal starting at 2 1/4 inches from the bottom and going to 1/4 inch from the last score mark.

At this point you can use an edge punch along the diagonal cut.  Now cut the flap from the right side. I cut leaving 3/4 inches around the perimeter. Ink all edges and folds.

Adhere the right side onto the left side. Be sure you don't adhere down the center flap.

For the band I cut a piece of cardstock 2 inches by 12 inches.  I punched along both long sides and inked the edges.  Score at 1 7/8 inches, 2 inches, 4 inches and 4 1/8 inches.  Fold and adhere together to make band.

Now your card is ready to decorate.

Attach patterned paper as desired.  You could stamp your sentiment or place a photograph on the top of the flap.  I added a thin strip of patterned paper and a flower to the band.

Stamp your sentiment under the flap.  Or you could tuck in a gift card here.

And this is my finished project.

Thank you for stopping by.

Chocolate Blog Hop

Next to diamonds, chocolate is a girl's best friend and in some cases it may even rank higher than diamonds. This hop takes some neat approaches to chocolate so I hope you can take the time to hop through and see how these crafters expressed their love of chocolate.

If you arrived here from Sandra's blog you are in the right place.  If not, you will want to start at Lorby's World with our Awesome Hostess Jearise!  But make sure you make it all the way to the end because Tee at One Scrap at a Time is giving away two files from The Cutting Cafe (http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/) to one lucky winner. Tee will have all the details on how to sign up for the drawing when you arrive at her blog.

So get your box of hidden chocolate and enjoy the hop...

We all have those weak moments where we just NEED to have some Chocolate and this is for you.....which is completely guilt free!

But seriously, one just never knows when that sweet craving is going to come on or when stress just overtakes us and we just KNOW that chocolate will be the "cure all"!  This is what I made for those situations:

Don't you agree that everyone should have one of these in EVERY ROOM of the house!!!  Just in case.....

But what I really like is this fabulous "Chocolate Inspired" wreath that I have made for a Christmas present for a very special someone!!!

The picture doesn't really do this wreath justice.  The colors are varying shades of browns (chocolate) and tans with a little bit of light blue thrown in for some contrast.  I used my Art Philosophy cartridge from Close to My Heart to cut the flowers out, then I rolled them.

Thank you for coming today and now on to Lynne's blog to see what she does for her "Chocolate Fix".

Here is the entire line up in case you get lost along the way.

Pinterest Inspired Blog Hop

Welcome to our Pinterest Inspired Blog Hop.

Are you addicted to Pinterest? Do you have several boards with pins that you said "I've got to try that!"? Well here is your inspiration to create those awesome projects you want to try but have not yet done so.

If you arrived here from Claire's blog then you are in the right place. If not please start at the beginning with our fabulous hostess Ashley.

Here is my Pinterest inspiration found here:

And here is my take on said inspiration:

I used K & Company paper for my wreath.  With the bright and unusual colors I didn't think it needed anything more than the buttons on the stars!

Thank you for stopping by to see what I've made that was inspired by Pinterest. Your next stop is Cicily's blog to see what inspired her.

Halloween Spooktacular Banner Hop

Welcome to the annual Halloween Spooktacular Banner Hop for Special Needs Children!

I am delighted to join with more than 3 dozen other women who have each made at least one Halloween-themed banner that will be donated to hang in the room of a medically-fragile child at Pediatric Specialty Care in Pennsylvania.

Our Hop Hostess Ellen works at PSC’s Bucks County site as Admissions Coordinator. The Banner Hop starts there, so please be sure to circle back to the beginning to see all of the terrific banners have been made for these very special children. If you arrived here from Lisa's blog you are in the right place.

Ellen shared this information with us about Pediatric Specialty Care: “PSC is a very special place where children stay either long- or short-term, typically after hospitalization. Most are dependent on ventilators and other technology to survive. Some have been born too early or with genetic diseases or birth injuries. Other children suffer injuries later in life that require constant care later, including brain injuries from trauma or loss of oxygen (from choking, suffocation or drowning) and spinal cord injuries.

These children and their families -- and PSC’s staff -- will be thrilled to receive the Halloween banners, to help brighten the season when their friends and siblings will be out trick-or-treating.”
Here is the banner I am sending to a child at PSC:

This Hop is two days (Saturday, September 1 and Sunday, September 2), and on each day you will see different banners. Be sure to visit on both days to see the truly inspirational work of these generous bloggers, and leave some love (comments) on as many sites as you can – because if you do, you can up your chances to win some Spooktacular blog candy, including from these sponsors:

Here is my project for the Krazy Crafting Crew:

Today's project are fall magnets.  I used clear gems found in the floral department, I cut out circles from my fall paper and used mod podge to adhere to the gems.  I then applied another layer of mod poge over the top of the scrap paper.  After this dried I glued on a magnet.  Really easy and fun to do.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and don't forget if you missed yesterday be sure to go back to another wonderful autumn project.  Now please continue on to Jearise's blog
