Christmas Cards & Cookies Blog Hop

Welcome to Round One of the Christmas Cards & Cookies Blog Hop! You should have come from Dena's blog.   If you are starting here and wish to hop from the beginning of the hop, please visit Dena's blog.

There was so many responses to the Christmas Cards & Cookies Blog Hop that it had to be split between two weekends. This is Round One and begins Saturday, Dec. 3rd, continuing through Sunday, Dec. 4th.  Round Two will be held next weekend. We have a talented group of women who love papercrafting and baking. Each of them is sharing a recipe for a yummy Christmas treat along with a Christmas card or tag. Hopefully, you’ll pick up some great ideas for your own Christmas gift giving this season. So, grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy!

Here is the front of my card:

And the inside of my card with my cookies:

My recipe is for Chocolate Crinkles.  The recipe is as follows:
      2 cups granulated sugar
      1/2 cup vegetable oil
      4 ozs melted unsweetened chocolate
      2 tsp vanilla
      4 eggs
      2 cups flour
      2 tsp baking powder
      1/2 tsp salt
      1 cup powdered sugar
Mix granulated sugar, oil, chocolate and vanilla.  Mix in eggs one at a time.  Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.  Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours.
Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Shape dough into balls, roll in powdered sugar and place about 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet.  Bake 10-12 minutes.  Makes about 6 dozen.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please be sure to visit Carla's blog blog next to see what she has to share with you!

A Fun Little Christmas Card

Happy Holidays Everyone!!!  To kick off this season I thought I would make a Christmas card using non-traditional colors.  This was the result:

This is a criss cross card that is made using an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock and some patterned papers.  I found the pattern on the Splitcoast Stampers website found here:  http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/criss_cross_card/
